New Residential LifeStandards
Over the past six months we have been working on improvements to develop the current Residential Housing Design LifeStandards. This process has involved an Expert User Group being formed from a diverse mixture of advisory backgrounds including social housing, older persons housing, commercial housing project development and management, and housing for people with disabilities. Their knowledge and expertise has been tested and pushed to further modernise and refine the LifeStandards for New Zealand conditions.
The Lifetime Design Foundation Council has also played an important role in strengthening the LifeStandards. Their backgrounds and passion for the Lifetime Design movement has helped to clarify and add key areas of value and information for users.
The Lifetime Design Foundation Members were given the opportunity to provide feedback on the draft document and their comments and suggestions were all taken into consideration and adopted where appropriate.
The Lifetime Design Foundation Governance Committee has signed off and verified that they are satisfied that the LifeStandards review process was thorough. They are happy that the process took into consideration all comments and suggestions and included a wide and appropriate group of advisory members.
Finally, the Board has adopted the LifeStandards and they are now on our website ready for you to reference and include in your next design project.
